Not sure what to say?

He was a wonderful man and tutored my 2 kids and nephews

I would throughout the years search the internet and try to find the whereabouts Joel aka “Mr. Lorden” I randomly did the search again today and came across this. I was always glad to know until know he was alive and kicking. His obituary should start with words cannot do justice or sum his life up, just be able to shed a little light or perspective of who he was. He was a character out of the movies when I crossed paths with him in high school when he was widely known around town as a tutor...

What a wonderful legacy your dad has that will continue on through countless students who were wonderfully impacted by his teachings as well as his family surrounded by love. Sending condolences to you during this difficult time.

May his memory be eternal. I was a colleague of Joel for seven wonderful years at KO. It was my first teaching position and he taught me how to be a teacher, coach, and advisor for the students. He was a true mentor who gave clear, concise advice. Although I did not see him after I left KO - his memory has been with me always. Thank you, Joel

I recently heard of Joel’s passing and I couldn’t believe I wouldn’t see that friendly face again. I will miss our little chats and seeing him with a Penny walking by the neighborhood. He was a nice man.

I learned a great deal about being a teacher and coach from Joel. I came to K-O in 1974 and just retired in June. Much of my 42 year career was shaped by the example Joel set. Thank you.

Pap Joel is the finest teacher mentor and coach I had during 6 years from form 1 -6 @ Kingswood. Tirelessly helping all sacrificing for the greater good. Thank you for what you instilled to all of us.

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

Joel and Penny were part of our daily walking routine. Each of our English Setters took different approaches to saying hello - - but we always were greeted greatly by Joel. What a great way it was to start our day...we miss you!
