Not sure what to say?

Joel was introduced to me by a former customer of his which became his friend as most is his customers did. He was an amazing man and I throughly enjoyed working with him and getting to know him. He lived life the right way and was a true inspiration!! He will be missed!

Susan & Emily,

I am so sorry for your loss. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Sending you my love.

Dear Susan and Emily-
It was in the early 1970s when I first met Joel. I had returned home after four years of military service and Joel was the minister of music at my home church. We lost touch for decades and then reconnected at Philadelphia Baptist Church. One of the greatest joys of my life was to spend an afternoon at a Barons game with Joel and share our stories. There is the question, "What will you miss the most about Joel Padgett?" There are not enough words to describe what Joel meant to Kevin and me. We feel so blessed to have had Joel and Susan in our lives. Joel was so many things to so many people but he was the best choir director I've ever had the privilege of singing with. In fact, he's ruined me for other choirs because the bar is so high! I loved his sarcastic dry wit, the fact that he didn't wear socks and I loved to hear him sing. But...

If not for Joel, I would never have known the joys of playing modern Christian music. The time he spent with me and the opportunities he afforded me made me a better player.

But I will remember Joel best for being the best kind of friend. Always sarcastic, but always witty, he was always prepared to make time for his friends when asked.

Joel was a patient man, and imparted life lessons just by being a fine example of a good human being. I am a better person from having...
