JOEL W. TAPLIN

Talking with my dad on the phone, reminiscing about cool people, the Taplin family came up and then the story of Joel. The Taplin's lived at one end of the street while we lived at the other end. My mom, rest her soul, loved Joel. My dad was telling me how he'd deliver the newspaper with his dog and how it made my mom smile. Joel Taplin was a cool guy from a great family. Rest in peace Joel while we here have the fondest memories of you.

Joel was my friend eighteen years ago, when we were both enrolled at Bread Loaf in New Mexico. We had a wonderful and fun time - Joel was my closest friend that summer. He was smart, sensitive, athletic, funny. I hadn't spoken to him in many years (1998?) but remember his spirit very fondly. I am so sorry for your loss and will pray for his soul to return home.
