Joel L. Upin

Joel L. Upin, 67, of Chicago, passed away Thursday evening, March 25, 1999, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born March 5, 1932, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, Mr. Upin moved to Chicago's Lincoln Park neighborhood after leaving the Air Force in 1957. He worked as an advertising and marketing executive from 1960-1983 for Needham, Louis and Brorby; Clinton Frank advertising; and the Gillette Co.; and in 1983 opened a Computerland franchise in Chicago.

He was the beloved husband of Jane (nee Schulson); the devoted father of Eric (Natalie) and Catherine Upin; the dear brother of Alan Upin; and the son of the late Charles and Beatrice Upin of Albert Lea. He is also survived by his loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
