Joella was such a bright light in this world! She was always grateful, curious, incredibly creative, supportive, joyful and kind. I feel lucky to have known her and I cherish my memories of her. You are forever loved, Joella... and your art lives on to inspire generations to come! Thank you.

Remembering Joella as family. We were "equestrian" friends in a family of friends who loved and enjoyed our horses to the fullest. Watching Joella ride her horse Omar was a gift to all of us who have known that amazing connection one can develop with their horses. And you could tell Omar adored Joella's visits, bringing him carrots, taking him for walks, and loving on him like a little girl with her first pony. What a great loss to the educational community, the artist community, and especially Northern Arizona where she painted a true legend in the best of way, the Grand Canyon. Her Contemporary colors and style was just so inspiring in all ways to me.
She was a true Mentor of mine for many years. We became real close as professional artists in the Fine Art arena, and also as Art Instructors at Northern Arizona University.
