Dr. Mial was my principal during my high school years. She was inspiring!

Joetta Mial was a faithful friend. We exchanged phone calls and greeting cards regularly until the end. She would often check in to see how we were doing. She and Bill would enjoy discussing the "good old days" when they were active in the schools and the community. They would catch up on how the "kids" and her grand children were doing. . Joetta was the principal of Huron High School when our son, William, graduated in 1993. We send our heartfelt sympathy to her family .

Joetta was a wonderful person. Whenever I saw her, she had that great smile! I will miss her presence.

My most recent interactions with Joetta were at the annual Northside School reunions in the park where we enjoyed the company of many former students as we sat in the "elder" section of the tent. I taught at Northside for 15 years and had previously known Joetta through school functions there. I knew her to be a highly respected educator, friendly to all with many social interests. My condolences to her family and friends.

Joetta was first a colleague and then a friend. We taught together at Pioneer, she went on to guide teachers and students in important and meaningful ways as an adminstrator. She was principal at Huron when my children graduated, they knew her as always kind and supportive. Her efforts with the US Group was remarkable. Joetta was a great principal who always supported her staff. She was above all a lady. Creative, fair, humorous and genuine. She brought the best out in me and anyone who worked with her. She changed many teachers and students for the better. Her efforts will always be remembered.
