GARRO-Joey Gerard, age 36, 6/12/1970, of Omaha. Beloved son of Joan and Joseph Garro; beloved brother of Mary Garro Zeleny, Omaha, Paul Garro (Erin), San Antonio, TX, Kathleen (Todd) Smith, of East Windsor, N.J., Teresa (Jeff) Kopietz, Connie Garro and Tom Drzaic, all Omaha, Joanie Garro, of League City, TX, Susan (Carl) Stam, Clive, IA; foster brother, Michael Clark, York, NE; beloved uncle of Jason, Matthew, Shane, Bethany, Nathaniel, Dominic, Courtni, Tyler, Lucas, Benjamin, Gabriella, Juliana, Renee and Brian; extended family, the Sandoval family, Elkhorn, NE; special friend, Tracy. Joey chose to live his life with an open heart and touched the lives of many special friends.

To the Garro Family,
Each year, the Knight of Columbus has the "Jesus My Friend" retreat at St. Roberts. The Knights were very blessed to have Joey join us on many occasions. His presence was a true gift to the group. We will forever remember his smile. Next year, we will dedicate our retreat in his honor.

When I knew Joey it touched me because when I was talking to him on the phone he taught me a valuable lesson to never give up and always pursue your will.
