JOHAN DE JONG

I knew Johan as oom Joetje. He was my uncle.
My best memory of him is when we spend the summer holidays with him and my aunt at their house in Hazleton PA.
We traveled to New York City, Niagara Falls and went camping in Canada. He took us to all the hotspots.
Although he was at that time 60 years old I found him very energetic, playing vollyball and doing all kind of stuff.
In 1994 I visited him and my aunt for the second time, this time with my cousin Al.

I played golf with Johan many times over the past year. It was always a joy to have him in our group. He was always smiling and a great person to be around. I will miss his smile and friendship on the golf course.
