Not sure what to say?

I attended Albion from 1968-1970. I took two of his religion classes and he had a big impact on my life. His obit says he "influenced lives" and mine was one of them. He was genuinely interested in his students and took the time to get to know them. He helped me personally in after class counseling, it went way beyond just teaching! I am eternally grateful to have been shaped by his teaching and wisdom. Blessings to the family . His soul is now bathed in everlasting grace. Dave David....

Dr. Johan was my favorite professor at Albion. It was truly a privilege to be in his classes. He was a master at helping us develop a spiritual vocabulary through the works of Jung and just being who he was. Blessings to the family and all good friends.

I was a student at Albion College from 1967 - 1971 and was introduced to college life largely through participation in the Basic Ideas class taught by Johan Stohl who was also my advisor. I took many of Johan's courses in the Religion Department and ended up majoring in Religion. Johan served as a mentor to me in many ways during my Albion College years. His friendship and mentorship continued throughout my life. Knowing Johan also meant getting to know his wife Donna and his family who were...

I too have nothing but great memories of being welcomed to the Stohl family. What a wonderful home and family to know. Erik and I used to spend many a weekend hanging out at their house on Allen Place. I can still smell the cork board upstairs, still eat Golden Grahams for breakfast, and still play ping pong as we did in their basement. Johan was a great example of a wonderful father.

Sue and I met Johan at Silver Maples when my father moved there. His bright smile and wit, and warm friendliness were consistently uplifting. Our condolences to Donna, Erik, and families.

I have so many fantastic memories of the entire Stohl family! Growing up in Albion as the son of an Albion College professor myself, I was Nathan Stohl´s best friend. I spent countless days hanging out at the Stohl house on Allen Place. Johan was a great family man.....very smart and a pleasure to be around, even as a kid! I´ll never forget helping Nathan do his "House Chores" and being rewarded with a " Pizza Sandwich " in the kitchen! It was such a pleasure growing up with all of them...

I had the privilege of taking his classes at Albion College 1968-1972. He was such a thoughtful, decent man. My condolences to his family and close friends.

Johan gave so much of himself to the Albion community. His love of Ismon House and his passion for living life to the fullest will be remembered by so many. My deepest sympathy to Donna and his family. Johan´s life was one of purpose. May he rest in peace.

Wishing much love to all the family - sharing in the memories of a life well lived. Barbara Weiskittel
