SPIERS, Johanna N., widow of Robert C. Spiers Jr., passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2009. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert C. Spiers III. Mrs. Spiers is survived by her daughter, Christine S. Moseley; her grandson, Douglas H. Moseley III and his wife, Marsha; and two great-grandchildren, Anna and Larsen. During the 1950s, she founded and became the director of the Hopewell Oratorio Society and for many years taught private classical music for piano, voice and organ. Mrs. Spiers served as organist and choir director for a number of tri city area churches. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Hopewell Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home and Cremation Service. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be private.
