Dear Hans,

By a crazy coincidence, I saw Johanne's obituary. I remember her as a beautiful young woman -- well, we were all young then!

I am terribly sorry to hear of her death and your bereavement. Although I have experienced the same loss, every one's grief is different and there is really nothing meaningful anyone can say except -- I am very sorry and I wish you the best.

Johanne was a wonderful neighbor. Sharing peony tubers, plant wisdom and tours of her beautiful garden which I get to look at every day. Watching her play with her grandchildren as they grew was a constant joy. A positive energy - a strong and wonderful person. We will miss her.
