A Twin's Sunrise Serenade

Each year on March 27, Jack Andreacchio would call his twin sister, Louise, to sing "Happy Birthday." He used to call at 6 o'clock in the morning, she recalled. "He tried to get me before I could get to him."

Mr. Andreacchio knew how to take a joke, and didn't let pranks affect his loyalty to his family.

He laughed when his niece Jessica Carucci put scotch tape over his razor, but arrived at the hospital before she did four years ago when she was in labor with her son, waiting for her with a wheelchair.

Mr. Andreacchio, a human resources worker for Fuji Bank on the 80th floor of 2 World Trade Center, lived with his girlfriend, Fran Lentini.

He grew up in Bensonhurst with his two brothers and two sisters. In Bergen Beach, Brooklyn, he went horseback riding with his brother Tony.

"I had a horse named Ajax who was very hard to ride," Tony Andreacchio recalled. "Jack insisted in getting on him and riding, but he got thrown off in about two seconds. He had to run away when the horse started to chase him."

Every year since Jack Andreacchio was a little boy, the family gathered in Brooklyn to celebrate the birthday he shared with his sister. This year, he would have been 53.

Rest In Peace

When I first met Jack he was just a stranger who picked me up from JFK as a favor for a mutual friend way back in 1983. It was my first visit to NY and Jack was friendly, funny, warm and open. He made a slightly nervous Brit feel welcome and we got on well from the start. By the time I stopped visiting NY a few years later I'd like to think we were friends. Jackie was a great ambassador for NY and New Yorker's. Every time I see NY on the TV or in movies I think of Jack, and during this sad...

It is unbelievable that 20 years has gone by, yet I remember every minute of that day vividly. Having worked in those buildings and to have lost someone so close to me on that day is something I think about often. We were all fortunate to have Jack in our lives and we would be lucky to have half of his zest for life. We will never know how many lives he saved that day with his heroic and selfless actions. May God bless him and all of the other heroes we lost that day. Let us never forget...

I can't believe its been 20 years of not hearing your voice and jokes. I miss you dear friend.

As we near 20 anniversary of that awful day it still hurts god bless you
