John Alexander O'brien

Jack O'Brien passed away on December 12, 2024 at home. He was the devoted husband of the late Regina Cord O'Brien; the loving father of Timothy Casey O'Brien and the late Stephen Cord O'Brien; the dear brother of Michael O'Brien, the late Thomas Joseph O'Brien, and Kathleen Wood, the dedicated brother-in-law of Eleanor Coene, Ann O'Brien, Marilyn O'Brien, and Thomas Wood; the doting grandfather of Casey O'Brien, Alexander O'Brien, and Zachary O'Brien, and the faithful supporter of numerous family members.
Jack was born in Washington, DC on May 16, 1938. He went to St. Martin's Grade School and graduated from McKinley Tech High. Jack had a successful career as a government printer and Union official. He was a devoted member of many Irish American organizations, especially the Ancient Order of Hibernians (National Life Member), the Irish American Unity Conference, and the Irish American Club. He used his personal, political, and leadership skills to make a difference in Irish American affairs. He was known for implementing projects and raising funds to build, refurbish, and maintain various Irish monuments and signs throughout the DC area. He was devoted to a United Ireland.
