Kevin Jay Bonderud

Kevin J. Bonderud, 68, passed away from natural causes at his home in Washington DC, on February 12, 2026. He was born on October 17, 1957, in Columbus, Ohio, and grew up in Bloomington, Minnesota. He graduated from Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN. He worked in Washington, DC, for over 40 years, in communications, legislative strategy, and public affairs. He worked for U.S. Congressman Martin Sabo of Minnesota and Widmeyer Communications, and spent the last several years as an independent consultant. He is survived by sisters Kirsten (Allan) Kuehl of Rochester, MN and Kendra (Kenneth Parsons) Bonderud of Madison, WI; nephew Ethan (Cindy) Kuehl of St. Paul, MN, niece Alissa (Adam) Davis of Lillington, NC, nephew Alex (Virdy Diaz) Kuehl of Huntsville, AL; grand-nieces Luella Ries and Maryn Davis, and grand-nephew Bennett Davis. He loved sailing on the Chesapeake Bay. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
