Knights of the Round Table

It had been well over 30 years since I last saw him, but I did get to spend some time with Uncle John at Mom's and Dad's 50th wedding anniversary in May of this year. I didn't know him well, but what I knew of him I care for and respected.

Lydia, terribly sorry for your loss. I'm sure that he will be missed more than words can describe. All of you are in our thoughts and prayers, Robert and Massiel Fistilla.

I will certainly miss "John". He was a huge part of my life for 23 yrs. I have memories of the clam bakes he would throw every summer in Avondale. Along with the long drives to Florida we would take for vacations and the Christmas parties he would take my brother and I to at the police station. Most of all I will remember the day he walked me down the isle like a proud father. Thanks for being a part of my life. There will always be a special place in my heart for you.

Smith Family Silblings in May of 2010

To the entire Smith Family,

Mom, Uncle Fred, Uncle Arthur, Aunt Lydia, Aunt Jeannette, and Aunt Vicky, my deepest condolences on the loss of your dear brother John. He will be missed by many and his loss will be felt by all. Uncle John lived a good life and lived to the fullest. My prayers and thoughts are with you all as you gather together to celebrate the life he shared with you all. Remember the good times and laugh and cherish those memories always. His spirit will remain with...

My deepest sympathy to the entire Smith family. Growing up in Avondale, John was like a second brother to all of us girls. We frequently reminisce about John and Bill's misadventures and how John was always there when we needed him. He will always be remembered as a kind gentle man.

John, now you are at peace...no suffering and pain. I have memories of you being a good father to my children, Lisa and Michael Nixon. Rest in peace, you will be missed.

Lydia, I am so sorry to hear about John, I will always remember our fun times in Avondale! Please remember all of the good times we had together.
