Not sure what to say?

I shouldn’t have been surprised when I heard the news about his passing. After all he was almost 97 and lived a full life. But somehow I thought he would always be there. I will remember him as “Pops” and I will be forever grateful that I knew him. So sorry guys that you have to go through this loss. It’s difficult no matter how old you are to lose a parent and/or grandparent.

I would first of all, like to say sir thank you, very much for your service not to mention being part of the Enginners Company that stopped Hitler's last attempt to push the Allies, back into the English Channel! It was not even in your or your unit's MOS. However you and your men did whatever you had to do to stop the Fascist Nazi's!!!! John will truly be missed. I worked at the home for vets and met John back in June of 2020. He was a sweet man and a funny sense of humor. May John RIH and I send my deepest sympathy and sincerest condolences to Johns family.
