Not sure what to say?

It was a pleasure working with John in the 80's and later knowing him as a friend. It was an honour and a privilege to know him. I will always remember John with very fond memories. His smile and his lovely Scottish accent. He will be sorely missed. Sincere condolences to Krystyna and all John's family

Sad News. A loss. I knew John from 1974 worked on many projects with him the last being in 2018 ...many years. I have never forgotten his help with understanding structures "Richard, that tenement is just a heap of stones leaning on each other!" Condolences to all family and friends

May the hope of seeing your dear loved one again in paradise console the sorrow in your hearts today. John 6:40

John was a dear friend and colleague with whom I had the great pleasure of working with over many years and projects. My sincere condolences to Krystyna and all his family. He will be sadly missed for his humour and humanity.

The students of my MSc in Architectural Design for the Conservation of Built Heritage at the University of Strathclyde and other PhD students to which John helped in their studies are also sending their condolences.

A student of mine did a caricature of him and he showed us his picture as a baby, with the same hair style

Our deepest condolences to Krystyna an all John's family. He was a great man and professional and he will be greatly missed. His obituary should appear tomorrow in the Scotsman and the Herald newspapers. We should keep his legacy by further disseminating his work and being inspired by him. He will be watching us with his mandolin. Rest in peace.
Best regards,
Cristina, Dimitris, Alex & Lucia
