It was a pleasure working with John in the 80's and later knowing him as a friend. It was an honour and a privilege to know him. I will always remember John with very fond memories. John was a dear friend and colleague with whom I had the great pleasure of working with over many years and projects. My sincere condolences to Krystyna and all his family. He will be sadly missed for his humour and humanity.

A student of mine did a caricature of him and he showed us his picture as a baby, with the same hair style
Our deepest condolences to Krystyna an all John's family. He was a great man and professional and he will be greatly missed. His obituary should appear tomorrow in the Scotsman and the Herald newspapers. We should keep his legacy by further disseminating his work and being inspired by him. He will be watching us with his mandolin. Rest in peace.
