John David Alden, 77, transitioned peacefully on September 1st at Baystate Medical Center. He was predeceased by parents Reginald John and Elizabeth Erwin (of Dallas, Texas). He went to Center School in Longmeadow for primary education and Classical High School in Springfield (class of 1962)....

We are really going to miss John. He made us laugh, was always trying to help people, and was very interesting to listen to. Many times we drove near the house, but never stopped by because we hadn't called ahead. Now we regret it. We thought he was going to last a lot longer. John was a good person and a good friend.
