I got to know John through his regular gigs at the Blue with Ron and Chris. He was an amazing musician and a very nice guy, and I'll miss him. Condolences to his family.

Beth, Robert, and Family,
We are so very sorry to hear of Johnny's death. What a shock it was to get the news and we thank you, Beth, for sending us a note in the mail. The last time I saw Johnny was when he came to Florence to be the master teacher in a workshop and he took the time to come by my elementary school to say hello. That was so thoughtful. Y'all were like cousins to us since our parents were so close.
