Not sure what to say?

I have just found out of John's passing and am truly sorry for your loss. I knew both he and Joan through my parents Mir (Mike) and Loretta through their affiliation with Foster Wheeler. Both were truly a wonderful couple, very outgoing, and always a smile on John's face.

I met John and Joanie over 20 years ago. John was heartbroken from the loss of Joanie, but I never saw him when he wasn't smiling. At age 85, I rode with him to Katz Diner located in the Galeria area. Even at 85 he had retained his New York driving skills. He will be missed by many. I am a better person from knowing John.

To Carolyn and all the Allgaier family-
I’m so sorry for the loss of your dear father, John. I’ll always remember your dad’s genuine warmth and smile. He made time to chat every time I was at your house through our high school years. One of the things I admired so much about your dad was his devotion and love for your mom, Joanie. He left a beautiful legacy in his children and their families. Sending you love as you remember the life of your precious dad.

As one of John’s many neighbors, I can say that I will miss his smile, his hearty “Good morning, María!”, and seeing him in his big white car.
