Dear John Jr.: I just learned of your father's passing today, Sunday. While I only met him several times, I remember how handsome and sophisticated he appeared. My friendship with John and his family encompasses three generations and goes back about 65 years. His death marks the end of an era, one filled with remarkable memories. My heartfelt condolences to all of you on your great loss.

I am sorry to have to record this in the Alschuler family tree. I did not know John, only Al.

I only knew John in the last 10 years or so of his life but he always treated me like we had been friends for life.John was a great guy-a terrific story teller, and skier. I'll never forget a trip to Arapahoe Basin when one of our group-not John- slipped and knocked most of us down like bowling pins. It was a great day with a great group and no one was hurt-except a little pride. I will miss him.
