John Archer

John was my boss for two years when he managed the Salem main office for First Interstate. He hired me as his operations officer and when our first audit under my supervision was a "failure" and I was eventually demoted, John took me to dinner and encouraged me to use the experience as a positive step in my career. That was in 1986 and 36 years later I retired from a banking career that I look back fondly and truly believe if it had not been for John I would have floundered. Thank you

I had the privilege of being a fellow parishioner with John and Jackie at St. Thomas More, but also got to know John through his beloved University of Portland. Always quick with a smile and an understated enthusiasm, I enjoyed every one of my moments with him. May he rest in Peace and be reunited with Jackie in heaven!

One of the best bank managers I've ever worked with! His professionalism, kindness, and supportive nature made him a fantastic leader. Even seeing him later in social settings, he was always awesome to talk with!
