John "Jack" Athey, Sr., 86, of New Philadelphia died Thursday, August 18, 2011 at the Hennis Care Centre.Jack retired in 1996 from the Ford Motor Co. in Lorain after 38 years of service. I was fortunate enough to work with him at Ford... he was always willing to help out and go the extra mile because that was the kind of person he was! Candy/Bob and family, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I got to know him well while working with him a few years at Lorain Assembly. I was very fortunate that he took me under his wing and advised me on many situations. He was a very good man and always spoke positively about everyone he knew. I also feel very fortunate to have known him and share in your loss. I'm sorry I cannot be there for the funeral and wish you strength.
