John's enthusiasm for plants, including showy natives, was shared with many. Luckily, I was one who had the pleasure of his friendship. We had years of phone conversations, but far too few meetings together. Lamyrl, John's plants in our landscapes will forever remind us your great botanical kinship. With deepest sympathy, Tom.

Lamryl, we are so sad to hear of John's passing. We had great times together with you two on the tours. John Thompson, our brother-in-law, was very fond of John. May he Rest in Peace and God give you comfort at this sad time.

John was like a daddy to me. I loved him and learned a lot from him. His knowledge of plants was a joy. My family will miss him everyday.
