Not sure what to say?

Dr. Barrett will always be remembered as being a wonderful priest at St. Alexander's

I can't believe it has only been 6 years...it seems like forever since we last spoke, laughed and prayed together. You are so very missed, Father John...

I too knew Fr Barrett from 1st through 3rd grades at Sts Peter & Paul in Naperville. Father Barrett was one of the priests who officiated at my first communion on May 21st, 1961. He is in the photo taken on the alter of the church as it was going through renovation. Father Barrett was a favorite of me & my classmates & siblings. He was a warm, gentle & kind man who could relate to even the youngest of the faithful and taught us what it meant to love God our Father.
Blessings to the...

My sorrow for the loss to our community of Faith but Joy in knowing he is home with our Father. Fr. Barrett was a my parish priest in grade school and will always be in my memories

I will always remember what a wonderful pastor he was at Notre Dame church

My heartfelt sympathy to the Barrett Family.

Dear Father Barrett, We were so sorry to hear of you passing. Our first meeting with you was when you baptized our son Anthony in 1972 at St Alexander's Parish as a young priest. Later you returned to St Alexander's as our pastor and married our daughters Angela and Gina. We admired and respected you as a wonderful priest and role model of the church. You will always be a part of our life in villa park. May God Bless and reward you dearly for your dedication to the Catholic Church. You...

Dear Father Barrett, My very first meeting of you was as a priest at St Aexander Church with the baptism of our son Anthony. You came back as our pastor which made me very happy because I admired you so much as a model priest. In later years you married both my daughters Angela and Gina. Thank you Father Barrett for being part of our life memories in villa park. We will remember you always and may God Bless you...

So sad to hear of Fathers passing. He married us October 17, 1998 at Mary Queen of Heaven. One of my fondest memories of the day was at dinner when he stood to say the blessing, he made sure he mentioned he had never heard such a strong group of Amen"ers" at mass. R.I.P. Father Barrett, you will be missed. Thank you for the blessings you bestowed on us almost 16 years ago.
