I did not have the privilege to work with John for a long time, but to gain respect and admiration for him did not take years. He was always willing to answer questions and provide help when asked.

I worked with John at Keytronic and Itronix over the years. We worked in different departments but he was always a pleasure to work with and hated the politics that happened sometimes at work. I always envied his handlebar mustache at Keytronic and I was surprised that it was gone when he came to work at Itronix. Of all his many accomplishments, he once told me that he was very proud of holding the hot lap track record at Stateline Speedway for such a long time. He will be missed very much.

My deepest condolences to Debbie and the family of John Barron. I knew John from Itronix, where we worked together. John was always a hard worker, but he sure loved his hot rods. I remember the bucket he bought and the purple Ford he built, more or less from scratch. He had plans to buy and restore a Ford flat bed so he could trailer both and drive his toys to the shows. I will miss John. My best wishes to you all.

John and I started working together in 1983 at KeyTronic. Our office was in a room in building 14 of the Industrial Park, with bare brick walls of the old WWII warehouse. We had to run gutters along the bare, open beamed ceiling to keep the rain off our desks from roof leaks in the winter. He was always eager to help, and taught me how to run a lathe and endmill for my automation project.
After a KTC layoff in 1998, John got me a job at Itronix, where he continued to be a mentor...
