John G. Bartholomew, age 86. Born in Andros, Greece. U.S. Navy Vet, WWII. Beloved husband of Theofania nee Chiviges. Loving father of Amelia Bartholomew, MD. (Aristeidie Diveris, MD.), Georgette (George) Tamvakis, and Michael (Kristine) Bartholomew. Proud grandfather of Mark, John-Michael, Alyssa, Kristy, John "Jack", Joseph and Emilia. Devoted son of the late George and Mary. Dear brother of Irene (the late Andrew) Tzakis and the late James. Fond uncle and cousin of many. Founder of J. Bartholomew Engineering Company, Inc., long-standing Parish Council member and supporter of St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church, member of the Order of St. Andrew Archons of the Ecumenical Patriarchate. John was a generous patron of the arts and traveled the world with his family. Visitation Thursday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Family and friends will meet Friday morning at St. Andrew Greek Orthodox Church 5649 N. Sheridan Rd., Chicago, IL 60660 for visitation from 9:30am until time of funeral service at 10:30am. Interment Elmwood Cemetery. By the family's request, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Andrew Church would be appreciated. Arrangements by JOHN G. ADINAMIS FUNERAL DIRECTOR, LTD.
