I first saw John Bass when he did a painting demo at the Aldrich Elementary School in Howell, N.J. I was amazed then by his character and the speed at which he painted. It left a huge impression on me. He just enjoyed it so much you could feel it. I also went on to pursue a career in art and, upon returning from art school, was delighted to discover his TV show on the public access channel. I watched it many times and he will always be "The King of Instant Art" to me. I only just now...

I have a light house mirror n denim coat painted by John I knew him from Asbury n hung out at Collingwood with him he was so sweet n cool I've been thinking about him alot lately it's so sad he's gone

I think of John and I remember his sweet smile, soft voice, and gentle ways. Memories of him always make me smile. I see you now, in Heaven, painting landscapes.
