Johnny was my friend, and my teammate second. He was the best of both. There are so many memories of him I could fill an annual. Seemed every time I played a baseball game, Johnny was yelling at me from his usual first base position. And if it wasn't Johnny, it was his younger brother Clyde, anxiously telling me to get the batter out so he could do what he loved to do -- hit. I couldn't escape the banter of the dugout as Johnny's dad and telling me to throw strikes. What a great family...
