Not sure what to say?

I had the pleasure of being one of John's instructors at BSA's National Executive Institute for 18 days in Arlington, TX. He was always ready with an understanding smile, usually followed by a hearty laugh! What a great Scouter, what a great man, what a great human being we have lost. John brought light into the lives of all he met, and his memory will always live in our hearts. God bless.

John was a true gentleman and a Boy Scout in every sense. I will miss his friendship. My deepest sympathy to John's family during this difficult time.

Area 2-3 Director, Southern Region, BSA

HE GETS TO SEE THE LORDS FACE AND FLY WITH THE ANGELS...........

Our hearts are saddened and heavy with news of the sudden passing of John. Our thoughts are with you in prayer. May you find comfort with Family, Friends and many fond Memories of a caring, serving and loved Man.

I just learned of John's passing from a college buddy. A good man, a good Scout, and a good example. Rest in Peace, John.

My thoughts and prayers go out to John's family. I worked with John in the South Plains Council office in Lubbock, and he always had a smile on his face and a pep in his walk.

I am so sorry to hear of John's passing. I sincerely enjoyed knowing and working with John while he was in Lafayette, LA as our BSA Council's field director. We were able to keep in touch via FaceBook. I will miss him greatly as will all his family, friends, and Scouters that John touched.

I was so saddened to learn of John's death. He will be greatly missed by so many whose lives he touched. I enjoyed serving in Scouting with John in Lubbock and seeing him at conferences after he went to Austin, to Mississippi and to Corpus. God bless Christie and the boys.

John was a special person. As a transplant patient myself, I felt a special connection to his recent health struggles. He was fun, friendly and a gentleman. My sympathy to your immediate family and to the larger family of Scouts.
