We'll miss You Uncle John

I was in Company H and I didn't know John but being in the 40th. Engineers your dad was in "the band of Brothers". As many of us in the 40th will go, we all treasure our short military life together.

Our deepest sympathy to the Bechtold
family. Sorry we didn't know about
the death of Hunzie, or we would have been there to comfort you.
May all the happy memories bring you peace at this time..........

John was a valued member of the 40th Combat Engineer Regiment during World War Two. His many brave acts will not be forgotten

Your Dad had a great sense of humor which led to banter among us and lots of laughter.He was liked by all of us in S CO. 40th Engrs. He was a good worker in the supply room. John M. lehr
