Becker, John L. On April 22, 2019 Attorney John L. Becker ("Jack") passed away at Froedtert Memorial Hospital due to complications of congestive heart failure. He is survived by his children Christopher (Kimberly), John, Daniel (Gabriela), Scott (Melissa), Kevin (Tricia) Teske, eleven grandchildren, his brother Carl and countless nieces, nephews, relatives, colleagues, and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his wife of 36 years, the Honorable Marianne E. Becker, his parents Carl and Mary Lou (Mistele) Becker and his brother Lawrence. Jack loved the majesty of law, the thrill of debate, and the beauty of justice. He was a passionate advocate that sought fair solutions rather than legal victories. For 53 years, people entered his office as clients, but left as friends. These passions were woven into his personal life. Jack served on many boards, committees & councils, but was never happier than when he was making a one-on-one impact puzzling through the challenges of family, friends or whomever sought his wisdom. Most notably, he served as a sponsor to a generation of Bill W's friends. Visitation will be held at the Becker-Ritter Funeral Home in Brookfield on Tuesday, April 30 from 4 to 7 PM. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Wauwatosa, 12130 West Center Street, on Wednesday, May 1 at 11:00 AM. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are encouraged to Meta House, the American Heart Association, or St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Wauwatosa.

Not sure what to say?

I am so sorry for your loss; please accept my deepest condolences in this difficult time of sorrow and may you find comfort knowing that all those who fall asleep in death are in God's memory (Psalms 116:15). My sincere regards, ~MM~

Probably the most insightful lawyer and true gentleman I have known. Quick to draw out just the key facts to any problem, he was a master problem solver. Ever so courteous, he leaves a legacy so worth imitating. Dedicated to his family at every turn, Jack loved everything good in the human condition. Slow to judge and even reserved when he did, he was generous to all who were graced by his path. So much to be proud of in Jack; you have fought the good fight. Your time is now with the...

May your memories of the wonderful times you shared with your loved one comfort you and your family, today and always.

Sending our love to the Becker and Esposito families. Papa will be missed!
