John Phillipp Becker

I was saddened to read today of John's passing in the Foreign Service Journal. I served with him in Embassy Ottawa's political section almost forty years ago where John -- a wise, experienced and compassionate senior officer -- lent a willing hand to help a junior office like myself learn the ropes as a political officer. Nice photo of John. He had a wonderful life with Priscilla always cheering him on. A happy marriage is but an earlier heaven. Much sympathy for your loss.

What a wonderful tribute to an amazing man. I remember Uncle John as always smiling while making others laugh. I was blessed to get to know him better after I moved to VA in 1990. John, Priscilla, Joan, & Alison always greeted me with open arms and my heart is breaking for them now. I love you all.
