Not sure what to say?

When we were kids. His dignity and self-confidence were always visible.

Jessie, (if you see this - or anyone that knew John well in Hawaii) in my previous message I forgot to ask you, if you wouldn't mind, to contact me. [email protected] Thank you.

I've thought about John from time to time over the years. When I finally decided to try to contact him I saw his beautiful eulogy on the internet and was very sad and disappointed he was no longer with us. John was a high school surfing friend. I had the pleasure of surfing with him every so often over a period of a couple years, and we also spent a few weeks in Waikiki in 1969. He was the most fascinating person. He always seemed to be outside of everything, sort of like a puppeteer...

I never met John but have heard so much about him from my parents. Helen, please contact me at [email protected] We are going to be in the San Diego area soon and would love to take you to lunch/dinner.

JB It was an honor to be involved with your last "party" on Dec. 9th at Windansea. Got to see and talk to many of your old friends(great stories). Thanks for the great memories, the hikes, the concerts, the parties, the surf sessions, and the special times together living in Punahou Cliffs. You will not be forgotten. A special mahalo and aloha to Jessie for her love and kindness during JB's final journey. Aloha my friend.

Although we only had a brief meeting, you made a huge impact on my life. I wish we could've spent more time together so I could gain more of your infinite wisdom. Happy trails dear friend. I know you're looking down on us laughing......

JB you will be missed! We had alot of good times, good food, good company, in Hawaii and on Pescadero Ave. Will always remember our little bonfire at the end of pescardero one Christmas. You were like another brother to me when mine were not around. Rest in Peace, Aloha.

John and I go way back to the North Shore on Oahu in 1970 when we both worked in sin city (Waikiki). I worked in Chuck Steakhouse organization as a cook and JB worked as a waiter at the Red Vest. We always shared rides to town for work and back to the North Shore in the wee hours in the morning; lucky for us we both made it to this age considering the the thing we did.

I moved to Maui in 1974 and didn't see JB until I ran into him at Mitch's wake in Ulupalakua in1998. Since then JB...
