I knew John for many years through my work as a manufacturers' rep. He was one of the most genuine gentlemen I had the pleasure of working with, and it didn´t take long after meeting him for me to consider him a friend. John had a real appreciation for the finer things in life, and just as important, he loved sharing them with others. He never forgot his roots, and that groundedness made him all the more admirable.
We shared many meals, good drinks, great conversations and many laughs over the years. Just this evening, while planning a trip to Monterey, I thought it would be wonderful to see him and Patty again, only to learn of his passing. It´s been nearly 15 years since we last saw each other, and I´m saddened to know that visit won´t happen.
Rest well, my friend. Thank you for being one of the best, in both business and friendship. My prayers and heartfelt condolences to Patrice and the entire Bell family.

Somehow John popped in my head today and I Googled Monterey Stereo to see "closed permanently", I said "great, finally retired" (something he and I spoke about often), then I saw his obituary. This truly makes me sad, I so enjoyed my visits with John. After I retired and moved out of state, he was one of the few that called to talk and see how I was doing. I wish Patti and the kids the best.

Condolences to his family and friends. I met John in his Century Stereo days and would see him frequently as I built up my home stereo equipment. When he moved to Monterey I would occasionally drive down and see John at his new shop. Fond memories of having a meal together to catch up. It has been many years since I last visited. He was a joy to spend time around. I was sad to find he has passed away.

What a shock! I only spoke with John a couple of months ago about some old speakers I had. He was such a kind person and always willing to share his extensive knowledge of audio with strangers. I really appreciated his taking the time to speak with me. Rest in Peace John.

John was a wonderful longtime friend. I cherish the chats we had over the years, especially, "going down memory lane" about the fun times and experiences we shared, and will sorely miss him.

I was so shocked and saddened to learn of John's passing and my deepest condolences to all his family. It was such a pleasure to walk down Shell and have a nice chat about sports and PG and hearing about the family--I'll miss that--and John-- a lot. I hope that wonderful memories of good times together will ease the sadness.
