Not sure what to say?

Dr. Berrier was a very respected educational leader in the establishment of the first faculty of Hbg. Area Community College (HACC). I was one of those professors hired by him and felt he was a mentor, colleague and friend. I was sorry I was unable to attend the Services and wish to convey my condolences to John and Joan. You had a great Father!

Jack always made me feel welcome and part of the family. I will miss his sense of humor always.

Jack was an inspiring professional colleague, a good friend, and a great fishing partner. Visits to Berrier Island, a camping trip to Quebec, and a Western fishing adventure provide indelible memories of his resourcefulness, good humor and card playing skills that will remain until the end of my days. Pat and i send our condolences to the family.

Dr. John Berrier, Uncle Jack to us. May the light of the Lord shine upon you and all your grace, for the legacy and learnings that you passed on to each & everyone of us shall not be forgotten. The memories that were made at the Berrier Island will be treasured for always. You were always there for us, putting others before yourself. We love you & will miss you! But as you would insist, we will persevere.

I remember Jack's sense of humor at the family reunions.

I wii always remember Dr. Berrier as a wonderful and compassionate man.Dr.Berrier welcomed returning Vietnam veterans to L.C.C.C. in the early 70's to introduce them to a true learning experience. R.I.P

May the servant of the Lord rest in peace. He has serve the purpose of God by making LCCC a reality for us and the future generation. Dr. Berrier I will see you in the second coming of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

Joseph Bessing, PhD, Adjunct Professor

To the Berrier family,

I had the benefit of Dr. Berrier's charisma during my two years in the first graduating class at HACC. He helped make that a wonderful experience for me.

Take comfort from your memories.

Sincerely,
Char (Kanarr) James

Dear Johnny, Joan and Families, As you may remember, your Dad first became my hero when he hired me to teach at HACC in 1963. He never faltered in that role. Faculty and administrators at HACC with our disparate careers--15 of us,ages 23-75--agreed in later years that those two first years at Pennsylvania's first community college were absolute high points in our profession, and Jack's genius in creating community was a central factor. We always laughed that my interview at HACC lasted...
