Dear Betsy, John and Bruce,
I was deeply saddened by the news of Uncle John's passing. I didn't know he lived and went to school in Cincinnati. Cincinnati will now have an extra special meaning in my heart since my husband and I now live in Cincinnati. I will miss his Christmas letters. He was a wonderful man. Our condolences to you and your family.
Blessings,
Mike and Sandy (Grogloth) Brown

My prayers and condolences to the family. Uncle John was married to my mother's sister Irene. We could not have asked for a better person through all the years to be in our family. A kind and generous man who always thought of others. A wise and funny man with a grand sense of humor. A pleasure to be with and a man who set a stellar example of how to be a good family man, husband and father. He will be sorely missed and always remembered. I am deeply grateful to have known him and very...

Dear Betsy, John, and Bruce and families,
It is with deep regret that I read of your dear father's passing. Of all the
people I have known he was one of the nicest, most kind, and most brilliant person I have ever known. Your mother was pretty special as well.
We share your great loss, and are so
happy that you had your father for so many years. He adored all three of you
and was especially proud of the grandchildren. We often talked in the
afternoons, when he...

Betsy, John and Bruce, my very heartfelt condolences to each of you on your father's passing. I first learned of John's death through the local obituaries this morning. Your parents were wonderful friends of my parents, and particularly our fathers were friends for life as a result of their Dartmouth College/Pittsburgh connection. My sympathies to the family. fred garfield
