I grew up with Chris in Garland, Texas. He was like the big brother I never had. His influence on me was profound and positive. I always looked up to him, even when we went off to high school and college, even when we were adults, even when we were old men in our sixties. I think it will always be there. At the age of 70, he left us much, much too soon.

I am so very grateful and proud to have known Chris. He was a force like no other. My thoughts are with Patti, his Kids and Grandkids. Nothing meant more to Chris than his family and he was so proud of them. I will miss you my friend...

A MIGHTY OAK HAS FALLEN! Chris was a thoroughly good and decent man, a brilliant lawyer, a great friend, and role model. As a proud Jesuit graduate, he was truly a man for others. He never stopped fighting the good fight. May our heavenly Father ease your grief and leave only the cherished memories of his loving ways. And may the angels lead him into paradise. Your Friends, Larry '68 & Mary Ackels and The Ackels Family.
