I just heard about John´s passing. We were classmates at McGill and he was someone I really liked. I´m so sorry. Bram Bernstein, M.D.

John was a dear friend and I am saddened to hear of his death. I was a colleague at OHSU and we had many scientific adventures together. I offer condolences to family who have just lost a wonderful husband and father.

A wonderful person - so sad to hear of his passing. He had been a very kind neighbor many years ago. Stuart Oken

Dr Bissonnette was my champion professor. Always calm and supportive, he came to my defense once with the Dept Chief at OHSU and exhibited his fiery side! Virginia and family-I was saddened to read of John´s recent death. I never got to know his sense of humor, but he was a true bright light in my residency training at OHSU. He was always available if I asked, which I did as often as I could. I very much admired and respected his clarity of thought and intellect.
