John Bjorklun

Mr. Bjorklun came to Longfellow High school in Kearney the year I was a sophomore. I was quite interested in Speech and Debate. He was an excellent teacher and I not only learned from his classes, I enjoyed them too.

As friends of John's brother Gene and his wife Mary Margaret, we were fortunate to become acquainted with John and all of his family iin our various travels to Nebraska. John was a true gentleman, friendly, and a great guy to visit with. He will be missed by all, but all of us will have so many positive memories of our time with John.

Doug and family. I am thinking of you at this time. I remember your Dad as a patient and caring teacher. He brought us out of our shyness and gave us articulation in our daily speech. I always looked forward to his class. He was also a hero to me for his service in the Army. Remember all the good times. Toby Tollefsen

So sorry to hear of his passing. He was a joy to have as a neighbor, he used to bring cookies or candy over to my daughter and we would visit for a few minutes then he would head back to his house.
