Not sure what to say?

In 1959 I first became a student at Carrick High School, starting in 7th grade, and I will never forget Dr. Black, who I was so fortunate to have as my Homeroom and English teacher. I always remembered how he told us how much he loved his wife. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and was so kind and caring. What a wonderful human being. I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing, and I send sincere condolences to his family.

Rest In perpetual Peace Dr. Jack Black. Your common sense leadership at Keystone Oaks transformed the district into a teaching and learning center of excellence. My condolence to Maryann and his family.

What a wondeful tribute a man of humble beginnings who accomplished great things in the town and state he obviously loved. Our best wishes for continued happy memories of your father, grandfather, father-in-law. So sorry we can't pay our respects in person, but know that our thoughts, prayers, and love are with all of you in this time of rememberence.

Jack will always be fondly remembered. A kind man and I loved his dry and witty sense of humor. Your entire family are in my thoughts and prayers, especially Mary Anne during this difficult time. You all are life-long friends and I am forever grateful for this.

Greg & Jay,
Although I did not know your Dad personally, I knew of him when he was Superintendent of KO. Also, remember both of you as mature, gentlemanly students. My sincere sympathy to you and your family.

Jack was a great principal as well as a great human being! I enjoyed his tenure at Carrick! Rest in peace!

We are saddened to read of Jack's death. He was a a recognized leader among administrators in the Pittsburgh School system for many years. I had the privileged to serve on several committees with him and George Cupples. My condolences to the Black family. RIP in the house of the Lord.
