The Blake Family 1961

The way we were, Daddy, Momma, and the five little Blake children.

I'm Elsie Eads' sister and share memories of Jack as an older, and, frankly, glamorous, cousin. Boy cousins were scarce--only five of them, compared to nine girls--and with Jack's death, only one of the Sherman/Besley grandsons are left, along with seven of the nine granddaughters. We were lucky to spend lots of time on the grandparents' farm. Jack, I remember you, and I miss you! Libby

Dear Wanda, John, Emily, Andrea, and Sherman,

Jack was my favorite boy cousin. We grew up across the street from each other in Washington. He taught me how to dance! I know you will miss him very much. My loving concern goes out to each of you.

To Uncle John, his family, and all my Blake relatives:
I know Uncle John's passing is a great loss to his family and those who spent time with him. On behalf of the Dacquisto family our thoughts, hopes and prayers will always be with you.
Michael Dacquisto

While I never met Dr. Blake, I consider myself a loyal and steadfast friend to his daughter Andrea.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the family.
God Bless.

Emily on Daddy's shoulders

To Daddy,
Words cannot express my sadness in your passing or my love for you.
May our Lord hold you in His arms and guide your soul to everlasting peace in His embrace.

Emily

I know Dr. Blake only through his patient and thoughtful first wife, Ann, and his children and grandchildren. They reflect his memorable characteristics of a passion for music, intelligence, and being caring and loving.
