BLAZICH, John J. On August 10, 2009. Age 86. Of Brooklawn. Devoted husband of 61 years to Catherine M. (nee Pokrywka). Loving father of John E. (Mary Alice) Blazich, Joseph M. Blazich and Donna M. (Randolph A.) Ciurlino. Loving grandfather of Alison (Shannon) Lynch. Loving great-grandfather of Alexis, Liam, Fiona and Nora. Dear brother of Joseph J. Blazich. John was born in Philadelphia and was a long-time resident of Brooklawn. He was retired from the United States Coast Guard after proudly serving our country for 20 years and was a member of the Brooklawn American Legion Post # 72. John worked for the NJ State Marine Police. He was a devoted parishioner of St. Maurice R.C. Church. John was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed golf. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his viewing on Thursday morning from 9 to 10:30 at the McCANN-HEALEY FUNERAL HOME: 851 Monmouth St. (at Brown St.) Gloucester City. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 am at Saint Maurice R.C. Church: 401 Community Road, (At U.S. Route 130 South) Brooklawn. Interment with U.S. Coast Guard Honors in New Saint Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr. There will be No Evening Viewing. Memorial donations may be made to New Jersey Veterans Memorial Home at Vineland: 524 N. West Blvd, Vineland, NJ 08360. Please write in memo of check: John J. Blazich. Aunt Catherine, Donna, John and Joe, I was extremely sad to hear about Uncle Firp's passing. He was a man who I enjoyed spending time with and was a person who made everyone feel good when he walked into a room. I am gonnna to miss the great stories and times that we got to spend together. I am sorry for not being able to attend the services to honor Uncle Firp and my thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love Tim
