Not sure what to say?

Ms. Sarah,
So sorry to hear of passing of Mr. John
Blount as we kids always referred to him. He served the best california burgers and Lemon ice-cream. I grew-up in Currituck(50's & 60's) then moved to NYC but when we came back to Elizabeth City, we had to go to Mr. John Blount for the lemon ice-cream and his friendship. God Bless you and your family.

Im sorry for the lost of your dear loved one. May the god of all comfort comfort you in your time of need.

Mrs. Blount and John, my thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of bereavement. Mr. Blount was a man of strength, honor and integrity. He left a legacy that we must instill in our sons and daughters. Thank you Mr. John Blount for showing Blacks that they too can become successful business men and women. May God's peace be with you today and forevermore. Evangelist Linda Johnson-Spence

Aunt Sarah, John Jr. and all of the Blount Family. My Uncle was a family man. Always doing what he could for others, sharing wisdom and good advice, help in anyway he could and Love. The times he went along with us as Boy Scouts on trips, to leading in ways he never knew he did at church, to the times I went by his house to visit or stop by his shop in my youth. As an adult who would stop by the Confectionary to see him on a visit to EC, his welcome home greeting is something I will always...

To The Blount Family: John was a symbol of what black businessmen could achieve during the early years. I visited his establishment many times during the 1950 and 60's. It was always first class and he insisted upon order and our best behavior. I shall remember him for years to come. We often talked about my days as a student at A&T. He was always encouraging success and achievement. May God blessings continue to be upon you. Daniel D. Godfrey, PhD.

May God bless you and your family in this time of sorrow.

My deepest condolences to the Blount Family. Mr. Blount will truly be missed by all who grew up in the area of South Martin Street and Sheppard Street. RIP Mr. Blount. Job Well Done Thy Good and faithful Servant.

John, your father was truly a man who showed us all the way we should conduct ourselves as we were growing up. He has left a legacy of how to be a real husband, father and mentor to the young man of EC. GOD bless you, your mother and your family. EC has lost a true icon, but God has taken him home to rest.

Mr. Blount's memory will always be an Icon in Elizabeth City. I use to visit Mr. Blunt's establishment often while visiting Elizabeth City. I extend my deepest sympathy to the Blount family at your time of sorrow.
