Dear Mike and Deb. Please know that Marie and I love all of very much. Uncle John was indeed My Hero.I am so sorry that we are not there with you during this time. Marie is doing some better we will go back to memphis to see her dr. again monday. Our Country and world is a better place due to Uncle John's service We shall miss him but will alway cherish his Memory.

From the halls of Montezuma,
To the shores of Tripoli;
We fight our country's battles
In the air, on land, and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marine.

Our flag's unfurled to every breeze
From the dawn to setting sun;
We have fought in every clime and place
Where we could take a gun;
In the snow of far-off northern lands
And in sunny tropic scenes;
You will find...

Uncle John was and always will be a true hero indeed. He has always been admired by so many. I called him once when I saw him on the history channel and told him he was our hero. He replied, "No, I am not my dear, but there are heros all around you, look around, enjoy them." He will be missed. I am sorry I wasn't able to be with you during this time. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

My memories of Mr. Boitnott are mostly as a teenager growing up at Ridgewood Baptist Church. He represented what I think of as a Real Man. It was an honor knowing him during those impressional years. I only wish I knew more of his service to our great Country yet, that was Mr. Boitnott. Humble servant to God and Country.

He served God and country. Well done!

We will always love and miss John very much. Marie and I learned recently from John's daughter in law, how very ill he was. It was a great surprise as I always think of John as indestructible. In 1986 John and I began to work together i n my law practice where I got to know John and Chrissie so well. We will always love him and miss him very much. .... John and Marie Forbes, Jacksonville
