Not sure what to say?

I was so sorry to hear of Father Bolan's death. There are so many adjectives that could be used to describe this dear, kind man of God and friend. He touched the lives of so many veterans and staff at the Brecksville VA. He readily shared that he was a recovering alcoholic, giving hope to those he met having addictions, as he modeled sobriety and his commitment to the AA way. The world is a sadder place without you, Father Bolan ... the only consolation is that you are now home and have met...

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort.

I will never forget the times we golfed together and won, I will always miss you and I always think about you.

The first time I saw Father John Bolan was during mass where he worked as our new Chaplin at the VA Hospital in Brecksville and I noticed he was crying during mass. After mass, I went to the sacristy to help him and listen to his sorrow of losing a friend he recently learned of his passing.

We became good friends after that and Father and I would work together to
help the psychiatric patients. Father would spend many lunch times in my office usually singing one of his...

Our deepest condolences to the family of Father John. He was a dear neighbor of ours and we spent some enjoyable times on the golf course last summer. He gave our little kitty her last rights last year...such a kind and thoughtful person..we won't ever forget him...he left footprints in our hearts. May he rest in peace...

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...

I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome...

It was a blessing to know Fr. John. He will be greatly missed.

Father was his own man. I had the pleasure of John’s company many times both on the golf course and in meeting rooms around Cleveland and often times as far away as Santee, S.C. He loved his God through and through and would see to it that us guys got to his Mass, not unusually said in a motel room someplace, whether we were in the mood for it or not. We learned to be careful when he stayed in a poker hand because the chances were good he wasn’t bluffing and had a powerful hand. He had a...

I was so sorry to hear of Fr. Bolan's passing. He was a wonderful addition to the Brecksville VA Hospital. His infectious smile would light up our halls. He will be missed by all of us.
