Another point in John's legacy of the high school science program at the Ford Research Lab. Dr. Sung Won Choi (Jackie) participated in Ford summer programs in 1987 and 1988 and has gone on to receive a chaired professorship in pediatric oncology at the University of Michigan. Her summers at Ford Research, in part, inspired her to pursue a career in research. John was instrumental in launching these programs at Ford. To have touched lives in this way is a blessing.

Graduation time, and thoughts of you my classmate of 1956. What a full life you had and blessed with a loving family. Stay in my thoughts always John.

I was deeply saddened to learn of John's passing through a mutual friend, Michael Short. John was a colleague and good friend at the Ford Research Lab. He made it possible for me to complete a PhD at the University of Michigan. One of John's lasting contributions was the High School Science and Technology Program, which is still being conducted at Ford Research, some thirty years after John got it started.
