Last night, John was in a dream I had, a good dream that was full of John and I laughing. I found out this morning of his passing and the news made me restless all day.

I met John while working in Chicago in between college classes. He taught me so much about cooking and working in a kitchen, and got me inspired to look at food as an art form. I'll always remember the hard times we got through by making each other laugh, something he was extremely good at. I will always miss you, buddy. Wish we had more time together.
