BRABBS, John - Of Burton, age 78, died Saturday, March 25, 2017 at The Oaks at Woodfield.



 



Funeral service will be held 2pm Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,



 



Pastor John Scally officiating.



 



Cremation will take place following the service.



 



Contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 6434 Richfield Road, Flint, MI 48506.



 



Visitation 11am Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.



 



John was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 12, 1938, the son of late Clifford and Inez Brabbs and was a resident of Burton for the past 48 years. On May 29, 1968, he married Laura Lynn. John served in the United States Army. He worked for General Motors Truck Plant for over 30 years, retiring in the late 1990’s John was also a Pastor at Vassar Park Baptist Church and filled in various churches.



 



Surviving are wife, Laura;



 



5 children, Jerry (Barbara) Wilson, Brenda (Donald) Guy, Gloria (Steve) Smith, Sheila Campbell and Cathy (Jack) Parker;



 



5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren;



 



brother, Stanley (Sue) and sister Janet (Dave) Elder.



 



He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald.
