The `GOAT´

Condolences from the Hamilton Family.

We miss you Doc!

Best Band director ever was. Westside High school band was amazing under his directing.

What we have done for ourselves alone dies with us; what we have done for the world remains and is immortal.

Thank you for teaching me about Jazz, Dr. Bradley. I learned a lot from you at the ASU Conservatory Jazz program and miss those Saturday mornings.

For some reason, I thought of my old band teacher, Dr. James Bradley. He taught band in Augusta’s first integrated public high school to a bunch of goofy, confused white and black kids, all trying to figure out a brave new world. He let the black kids play funk tunes. And he let two white kids named Ed and Raymond think they could play jazz. Ed Fuqua is now a fine jazz bassist. Dr Raymond Collings is a college professor. Think he left a mark?

I have never taken the time to read all of the comments and kind words spoken here regarding My Father(Doc.Bradley)!
I always knew he was The Best of The Best in His Gift of Music! He was a great Writer, Educator,, Clinician, Author! FRIEND TO MANY!
I know his passing and burial happened so swiftly; that many wanted to come in person, yet time did not permit!
Hopefully; those who would have wanted to come and speak at his service, can now use this place to share your heartfelt...

A few days ago as I was traveling I came across a 1970 Red & White Convertable Cadillac and it brought back so many memories of him and I riding with the top down and the heater on. I was a young kid driving all over the state both on personal business and while playing in his band.

What Great Memories ...
